Introduction
Welcome to my Teaching Portfolio. When you have finished reading this document, you will have an understanding of my teaching accomplishments and my documented teaching effectiveness (Seldin, 2000, p. 111)
So this is the 2013/2014 version. Let's take a look at some of the things that never seems to change - my beliefs for one and a lot of things that are changing over the past and future years.
This portfolio will follow the prescribed outline for the School of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism.
I have added some new items to the portfolio to show you what I have been working on for my classes and how I am currently working to engage my students. This year I will be taking on some new programs to coordinate. This will bring the total to 6 - wow - I get tried just reading this line. The four programs that I currently coordinate - Hotel and Restaurant Management, Food and Beverage Services, 4th Semester in France and new this past year - Tourism and Hospitality Management - Event Planning with Kristy Adams. The new programs I am now responsible for are the 4th Semester in Taiwan and the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism Exchange program.
I guess you have noticed that this teaching portfolio is now an e-portfolio. (for 4 years now!!!!!)
I am very excited to work on this e-portfolio and I must say that I have been inspired by Denise Gardner to continue to use this technique. (Denise is always showing me new and exciting ways to engage students and communicate electronically with others - I certainly appreciate her assistance.) I also am working with Amanda Baskwill on this project to utilize various technologies that are available to us at Humber. Amanda has also been a great resource for me when it comes to technology and trying to incorporate these new crazy ideas into my classes.
So enjoy reading this portfolio and checking out the various links that are attached.
ENJOY
